EARTH DAY ***** WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT UPGRADE
In recognition of Earth Day, the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development will highlight $3.7 million in federal loan and grant funding to the Town of Betterton to help upgrade the current wastewater treatment plant that began operation in 1969. This project will help reduce nutrient loading on the Sassafras River, a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay. The Maryland Department of the environment is a funding partner in this project.
The event will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Betterton Beach Park.
